When it comes to skin health, keeping things simple is the secret to success. It can be so tempting to try a wide variety of different solutions – whether treatments or products – but the best way you can build and maintain optimal skin health is to avoid over complication. Consistency is key too – which is why finding and sticking to a treatment plan that works for you – supported by an effective at-home skincare routine – is super important. My approach to skin health is rooted in four core principles – Cleanse, Treat, Hydrate, and Protect. These are the four pillars that I encourage a skincare routine to follow in order to be effective, and also form the basis of all the treatments I deliver.

Cleanse
When thinking about what makes a good facial, it’s all about properly cleaning the skin. That may sound obvious, but it’s surprising how often effective, masterful extractions of impurities and milia from the pores are missed from the process nowadays. Well-performed extractions are the foundation of all of my facials… after all, properly clean skin is healthy skin.

Treat
Your skin is clever at telling you what it needs, and everyone’s skin is different. So, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach that will solve everyone’s concerns, which is why it’s important to listen to your skin and treat it with a targeted solution that is designed to fix the root of that specific issue – which is exactly what each of my treatments has been designed to do.When it comes to particular skin issues, I love treating all sorts of concerns. From hyperpigmentation to thread veins, broken capillaries to acne scarring – there is a solution for everything, you just need to find it and not overcomplicate it. Each of my facials is bespoke, tailored to each client’s unique skin concerns to ensure that the results are meaningful, real, and designed to last.

Hydrate
Hydrated skin is healthy skin. Keeping the skin adequately hydrated will maintain its elasticity and keep the skin barrier strong, which prevents fine lines from forming and uneven texture from coming through. I am a big advocate for taking care of skin from the inside out. As much as we can hydrate our skin with products, we need to think of the bigger picture and hydrate holistically – for example, through nutrition, lifestyle, and sleep. And it’s crucial to maintain hydration when travelling – especially in hot countries where we sweat more and lose water content in our skin. We need to replenish it.

Protect
SPF is a non-negotiable – come rain or shine – but especially if holidaying somewhere warm and sunny like The Maldives. I always round out every facial with SPF, and believe that no at-home skincare routine is complete without it. If you put in all the hard work to keep your skin healthy, why not then keep it protected? As long as these four steps are followed, then maintaining skin health is an easy and enjoyable process – which is why I love sharing this with others. As well as treating my existing and new clients, I do also really enjoy delivering Red Carpet facials to my celebrity clientele. I am often referred to in the press as a ‘celebrity facialist’ – but that’s not the title I choose to call myself. My real passion is helping people to fix their skin issues – addressing unique skin concerns and offering bespoke solutions that are entirely tailored to that individual. And that’s what skincare is all about – it’s personal and doesn’t need to be overcomplicated.
